What Could Happen If We Repress Our Emotions?

Why is it so important to express how we feel? The article Angry Feelings by Carmel Wynne says that suppressing how we truly feel could lead to lashing out on others when we can't hold it in any longer. The author uses the emotion, angry, as an example to explain this. The purpose of her article is the persuade the audience to never hold back our anger, or it could lead to future problems. This leads me to believe her viewpoint is that your feelings are important and should be expressed. For this reason the main idea is to express your feelings ( specifically anger in the article ) to keep you at your best emotional health.
Caramel Wynne's conflicting evidence is that because anger is one of the seven deadly sins in Religion, we find that we all have reason to suppress it. But she concludes after this that anger is natural and should be expressed no matter what. This slants my opinion that anger should be expressed no matter what in order to keep from having an emotional outburst in the future.
